For guests

Why did I get an email from pidglie?

Because a place you visited, such as a hotel, a venue or a transport operator, found something that is probably yours and used pidglie to let you know. pidglie is the lost-and-found service they work with. We handle the message and the shipping; the property handles your item.

The sender name on the email is the property's. It reaches you through pidglie's mail servers, which is why pidglie appears in the address and in the footer.

Who sent it

The property did. A member of their staff found an item, logged it in pidglie and connected it to you, usually from a room number, a booking or a loss you reported to them. Nobody at pidglie chooses who gets a message. We only deliver what the property writes.

What the message contains

  • A short description of the item, often with a photo.
  • A reference number, so you and the property talk about the same item.
  • Where the item is kept and how long the property will hold it.
  • How to collect it in person, or how to have it sent to you.
  • If you ask for shipping: one payment link, and only one, for the whole return. It lists the carrier's price, the property's service fee and pidglie's fee on separate lines, and your card is charged only once the shipping label has been bought. The property then prints the label and hands the parcel to the carrier.

Replying

Replies go to the property, not to pidglie. Answer the email the way you would answer any message from the hotel or venue, and the staff who logged the item will read it. If you prefer, use the phone number or front desk the property normally uses.

There is no mailing list

pidglie sends no newsletters, offers or marketing of any kind. You receive a message only while a property is handling an item connected to you, and the messages stop when the item is returned, collected or disposed of. There is nothing to subscribe to and nothing to unsubscribe from.

Not expecting it?

If you did not lose anything, reply to the property and say so, or simply ignore the email. The only payment pidglie ever asks for is the return of your own item, through that one link, and only after you have asked for it to be sent. There is never a second link, and a property will never ask you for card details by email.

Questions

For anything about pidglie itself, including how we handle your details, write to hello@pidglie.com. For questions about the item, the property is the quickest route. Our privacy policy explains what is stored and for how long.
